Vladimir Vankov

I have been a PhD student at the University of Southampton since October 2017. I am working in geometric group theory under the supervision of Professor Ian Leary.

My interests include special cube complexes and finiteness properties of groups. I have come up with a new method for proving groups are virtually special, which you can read about here.

Before coming to Southampton, I studied in Cambridge.

PGTC2020: I was glad to organise the Postgraduate Group Theory Conference 2020.

In the past, I have also helped to organise YRM 2018.
